I craved donuts when I was pregnant. Like, had to have one every day kind of craving. When I found out I didn't have gestational diabetes, I celebrated with two donuts. My husband says it wasn't really a craving, it was just a habit, but what does he know?
Do you know about National Donut Day? (Or "doughnut" if you're fancy) According to Wikipedia, it started in 1938 "as a fund raiser for Chicago's The Salvation Army. Their goal was to help the needy during the Great Depression, and to honor The Salvation Army "Lassies" of World War I, who served doughnuts to soldiers."
So really, this is about patriotism. It's my duty to honor this holiday and I do so with pride.
Scarlett's first donut out of the womb.
I can never decide between a donut or a sausage roll, so sometimes I get both.
Who doesn't love the donut shop? I'm quite partial to Daylight Donuts as it is the donut shop of my youth. Stop by if you ever find yourself in Jenks, OK (Jenks, America as the locals call it).
